The first night we were on our adventure, we went for a walk in the dark under the stars (which were beautiful). Our 13 year old dog Peek-a-Boo came along and fell off of this 15 foot cliff. It was pitch black. After she fell, she walked into the water and swam over to a small beach to our right. (We are not quite sure how she swam to the beach rather than out into the bay. We were standing at the top of the cliff in shock!) Alan ran down to the area where she had come on shore and we had to drag her out of the water. We were able to get her to walk back to the trailer. She was wet and disoriented and in a lot of pain. The rest of the trip it was necessary to help her move her hindquarters for her to get up and down. She seemed to get a little better each day. By day 4 she was almost back to normal! We feel lucky we didn't have to have a memorial service for her on the lake.
